On Friday was the annual Smithfield/Selma Chamber of Commerces GOLD COAST RAFFLE. Its an event put on by the local chamber (of which I am a member) and one of the big fund raisers for the Chamber of Commerce. Anyways, the big event is the reverse raffle. The prize to the winner is 5000.00 worth of gold. The way a reverse raffle works is they draw all the names and the LAST name drawn is the winner...and who was the very last name drawn, but none other than my MOM!
She bought a ticket when I was selling them months ago just to support me and help me get some ticket sales. Its all in good fun, but its even more fun knowing she won! I just went and picked up her gold coins--im kind of nervous having them!! I think her winnings will go towards a European vacation for her and my dad next summer!
