Being Domestic.

Last weekend we were supposed to go to the ECU game, well Budge ended up having to work, and it pretty much rained all day so we sold our tickets and opted to sit that one out. We have plenty of other chances to see the Pirates play since we are season ticket holders, and they managed to pull off a win even without us in the stands!

It was so nice to have a weekend with no real plans...those seem so few and far between. When I have the time I love to organize stuff, and work on the house, and I had plenty of time to do both this weekend. When Budge got home from work I had the entire contents of our closet strewn on our bedroom floor, and had filled up appx 3 bags already for goodwill. It took a full day (and a trip to Target for more rubbermaid) but I completely organized our closet. Im a big fan of getting rid of stuff, Budge not so much, but he does try. I literally filled up 4 trashbags of stuff for goodwill, while Budge parted with 3 shirts, and a pair of shoes the dog had chewed. At any rate its progress. :) After the closet was done I figured since I had purged so much I probably needed to go shopping to reward myself...:) Kind of a mistake. The mall was packed because of the rain. So I opted to just swing through PF Changs and grab Budge and I take out. Yum!

Sunday we slept in and ran around doing some errands and then I got into a sewing mood, and finished curtains for the entire downstairs. They are nothing special, just simple valances that anyone who can sew a straight line could make. But I am still proud of my accomplishment. Curtains seem to make a room look complete atleast to me. And until this house I have never made curtains because I didn't know how long I would be in that place and what was the real point...but now I am a curtain sewing fool! Actually not just curtains because now im moving onto accent pillows! :)

Its so lovely to have a weekend that you can just kind of plan it as you go...we won't have another one of those till November I think, but this one was much appreciated!
